Treatment Helps Make Emotions and Stress Manageable

Emotional distress, relationship problems, anger issues, low self-esteem and even severe psychological problems such as PTSD, trauma or psychosis can be helped. Until they are helped they can feel utterly overwhelming and feel impossible to manage or change. Therapy helps by teaching you to change how you respond to your stress, your depression, your attitudes and thoughts towards yourself or others.

Evidenced-Based Treatment

More and more clinical evidence supports the ability of the mind to change the structure of the brain. Mindfulness training and cognitive therapies have been shown to be extremely effective at liberating and empowering clients with various medical ailments, including hypertension, chronic pain, and cancer. In addition, these methods work equally well to relieve the symptoms of various psychological issues including anxiety and panic. These therapies have been found to significantly reduced the risk of a further episode of depression, anxiety and a range of psychological disorders.

Individualized and Results Oriented

Therapy is the opportunity for you to achieve a new level of mastery with yourself, your relationships, your school or career, your life . Effective therapy sets the stage for clear and realistic results:

  1. The therapist sets the stage by providing a strong, stable relationship. This relationship keeps you, as my, client grounded and focused through the process of learning new skills and behaviors.
  2. Individualized therapy: Careful attention and assessment are required to determine the unique nature of your functioning. Effective therapy is tailor-made to your specific treatment needs and adjusted over time.
  3. Interrupting automatic responses. The key to behavior change is using the therapeutic relationship to interrupt automatic patterns in your thoughts, your feelings, and in your physical responses. These automatic responses generate anxiety, self-doubt, and uncertainty, erode performance and can leave you feeling helpless and stuck.
  4. Providing repetition and reinforcement to facilitate long term learning. This repetition and reinforcement will help translate skills learned in the office into enduring and long-lasting behavior changes.
